What I Believe

I believe the Bible is the authoritative, infallible, and inspired Word of God.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…” II Timothy 3:16

I believe in the existence of one God who exists eternally in three persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 13:14, I Timothy 2:5)

I believe that “…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  Romans 3:23

I believe that “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9

I believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles during his ministry on earth, was crucified, buried in the tomb, and rose from the dead on the third day.  (Matthew 1:18, I Corinthians 15:3-4)

I believe that salvation is only possible through Jesus Christ.
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”  Acts 4:12

I believe that Jesus Christ is “…the way, the truth, and the life…” and that no one comes to the Father except through the atoning work of Christ. John 14:6

I believe that salvation is a free gift to all who believe.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16

I believe that God offers salvation to all “…, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”  II Peter 3:9

I believe that the Christian is indwelled by the Spirit and enabled to lead a godly life.
(I Corinthians 6:19)

I believe that Jesus will return in power and glory. (Mark 13:32-37, Acts 1:10-11, I Thessalonians 4:13-18, I John 3:2)

I believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.  (John 17:23, Galatians 3:29, Ephesians 4:3 and 4:13).

  1. Jennifer Jones Mosher says:

Thank you for the daily studies in Acts. God is SOOOO good, and is using them to help me live in a more constant awareness of His greatness and glory. Some other believers are mighty hard to understand, especially when they respond with hatred toward our earnest attempts to serve God. Somewhere we aren’t getting it right…..please pray for unity and letting go of old grudges, because it isn’t glorifying God. Thanks, Laura!
